Context
RuleStack is a personal project built around a compact daily challenge: arrange a small set of letters so that every stated rule is true. Each edition is designed to be understood quickly and solved in a couple of minutes.
The challenge
Constraint-based puzzles can become difficult to scan before they become interesting to solve. The product needed to present several relationships clearly, make rearranging the answer feel immediate, and give the puzzle enough structure without crowding the play area.
My contribution
I created RuleStack as an end-to-end personal project, shaping the product, interaction and visual design before building the application with Bun, React and TanStack.
Product decision 01
Make every rule readable at a glance
Each constraint is written as a short sentence, with the relevant letters highlighted in place. This keeps the player focused on deduction instead of learning a notation system.
Product decision 02
Keep the interaction close to the puzzle
The current order, move count and draggable letters share one compact workspace. Players can test an idea and see its effect without switching modes or losing sight of the rules.
Outcome
A new logic puzzle to solve every day
